Dragon ball

Many American fans don't realize that an entire saga took place before their beloved dbz series. Both Dragonball and dbz were created by Akira Toriyama. This was the start of the the three sagas of Dragonball z/gt. It started in Japan as a manga or Japanese Comic Book. Known as Dragonball 101 or for short just plain, Dragonball. The comic was featured in a popular Japanese magazine which was the start of its popularity. Soon after the fans fell in love with the the mix of the comedy and fighting and the manga became an anime, or animated series. The first Episode aired on Japanese television Feb. 16, 1986.

Dragonball Z

This series is much better known by American audiences. It followed the Dragonball series. Although the two plots don't tie in much together, the Dragonball series does explain some things that happen in dbz. The main difference between the two are that the original Dragonball was mainly based on comedy rather than action. But dbz on the other hand, has a unique fighting style fans love along with some comedy here and there. Well the Dragonball Z show has been on for a little while now and has been increasing in popularity day by day.  FUNimation made a deal with Cartoon Network airing the Dragonball Z series in the US. They also redid the episodes a little to censor them, but mainly to dub the voices in english. That is one of the main reasons a lot of people don't like FUNimation. But they wouldn't have been able to air the show on a Network that young audiences watch. The intensity of the fans, and merchandise sales is what keeps the series' interest in advertisers and other fans.

What the DragonBall Z series is all about all about.

The series, and yes I mean series are fictional about some people of all races having the ability to fight at high speeds, shoot KI attacks which I will explain later and fly. Most humans aren't very strong compared to other races such as Saiyans or Nameks. Humans are just like me and you basically, but with the exception of a few such as Krillin and Master Roshi. The only reason they are more powerful than others is because they train in arts, like martial arts and other fictional techniques like Kaioken or KI. To add to the dragonball fun there are many items such as dragonballs, dragon radar, sensu beans, magical fruit, capsules, scouters, and much more. These are all used by the characters throughout the show. I  might make a section on the various items later for you to check out.

DragonBall GT

DB GT is short for Dragonball Grand Tour. Grand Tour because the characters now have to search the entire universe to find the black star dragonballs. This is the final saga of the three. Though Akira Toriyama created the first two, now he was only an artistic consultant and had no direct control over the series. And this series was not created with a manga. GT started airing in 1996. Not many fans really liked it at first because the first few episodes lacked in action and plot development. The early episodes of GTalso lacked in fighting. Many fans weren't happy with this. To add to the fire after Toriyama left! TOEI then started hiring many new artists. Fans were hardly thrilled with the the new character designs. After the first few episodes the fighting picked up and so did the popularity. GT's last episode came on November 19, 1997. Many fans considered it to be one of the best. A lot of fans still hate GT. Why? Because they believe it was just made for money. Some of the plot was somewhat of a copy of Dragonball Z's. I am a huge fan of the series, and I loved it.
